About ABA
What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is the practice of applying the science-based principles of learning to achieve meaningful outcomes, improve behaviors and increase overall independence. The goal of ABA therapy is to teach skills and behaviors that increase independence by targeting language and communication skills, social skills, self-help/adaptive skills and/or play skills while working to decrease challenging behaviors, if necessary (e.g. tantrums, aggression, self-injury elopement, etc.).

A good therapy program is highly individualized and addresses the specific needs of the child and their family. A quality program will also follow evidence-based practices and will incorporate your child's interests to motivate and facilitate learning.

How Does ABA Work?

We work with your child 1:1 in your home, in school settings, in the community (e.g. grocery shopping) or provide remote support. After the completion of an extensive evaluation to assess your child's current levels and areas of needs, your child's BCBA will design a treatment plan that will be individually tailored to meet his or her needs and the needs of your family.

ABA utilizes the science of how we learn, combined with your child's interests, to teach complex skills.
Using the principles of how we learn, these complex skills are broken down into small, teachable steps and gradually taught to improve overall independence. Data is collected to track progress and ensure positive outcomes. Our team will work collaboratively with parents and/or caregivers to help teach strategies and techniques used to support progress outside of the therapy setting.
